Chocolate Milk Cafe- Health Fair Activity!
In an effort to make sure EVERY family has an opportunity to share their experience, that did not follow evidence-based standards during pregnancy, birth and/or the postpartum period, we will have a table where everyone will have the opportunity to create a poster or vlog about their experience at the Chocolate Milk Cafe – Health Fair on August 25, 2016 at the Ralph Ellison Library starting at 4:30 pm – 8:30 pm.
Posters will be taken to the 2016 OKC Improving Birth Rally that will be held on September 3rd from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm at the Myriad Botanical Gardens- 301 W Reno Oklahoma City OK. 73102. Plan to attend!
Vlogs & posters will be posted on this website and the Oklahoma Chocolate Milk Cafe Facebook page!
The Purpose
“We are rallying to bring awareness to a problem and a solution. Many people are unaware that the US maternity care system is in crisis and just how much room for improvement there is: of how much of a gap there is between “routine” or typical care and care that is based on scientific evidence and known best practices. So many women are unaware that respect and compassion in childbirth aren’t just luxuries; they’re a human right.
We are taking those messages to the streets, to the general public. Because we are the solution–-the mothers and families whose business drives the maternity care system.
Imagine what change we could effect if we really took hold of our power as consumers and wielded it to make evidence-based maternity care the new “standard” of care, and to make humanity in childbirth a given.”-www.improvingbirth.org

I am so very thankful for all of the Oklahoma families that have allowed me to serve them as they welcomed their blessing into their arms. It is with great anticipation that I share……… I will start the Bachelors of Science in Midwifery Distance Program in August through the Midwives College Of Utah. I am so excited to have the opportunity to be a part of a wonderful Midwifery program. I am still accepting private birth, postpartum and lactation clients.
